Welcome back to another year of beach and boating around Arlington Pond!
The APIA (not to be confused with APPA) manages the beach at 53 Shore Drive, and the boat ramp (cove) at 81 Shore Drive. Below is some information about becoming a member and some info about meetings, volunteering and activities.
Joining the APIA each year allows you the privilege of using the beach and/or boat launch which are owned by the Arlington Park Improvement Association. Membership levels are subject to where you live in proximity to our beach, located at 53 Shore Drive. Please read the General Policy Letter on our website, to see the APIA boundaries. www.APIASalem.com
APIA monthly meetings: April, then June – September to discuss matters and plan events to help sustain and improve our summer association. Please see the schedule and locations below. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Volunteer Program: Thankfully, we have several awesome volunteers who devote their time to help keep our association running smoothly. At the end of every summer, three volunteers are randomly selected in a drawing and receive a gift card, as a thank you for providing support. Even a small amount of volunteering is eligible for the drawing. Rules and regulations can be found on our website at www.APIASalem.com.
Our Bylaws and General Policy letters are on our website. Please review them with your household members and guests. If you wish to receive a printed copy of the Bylaws, General Policy letter, or this Newsletter, please let Lisa or Clare know and we will send them out through regular mail.
Payment of dues: •
- The APIA Dues are $40.00 and include beach rights and access to the boat launch (cove).
- They must be paid by May 31st, 2025. Dues should be paid in full at the time of payment.
- Having the due date prior to the start of summer will get the beach pass in your hands before the really hot beach weather hits.
- Your payment of dues goes towards beach and boat launch maintenance, payment of taxes, property insurance, any damages that are not covered by insurance, and towards activities.
- On June 1st, and thereafter, an additional late fee of $5.00 will be charged. The late policy will be enforced.
- Anyone who has unpaid dues from prior years will be required to pay a one-time administration fee of $40 in addition to this years’ dues, to become current.
- You may mail in your dues payment, pay in person, or you can choose to Venmo. See details below.
- If you mail in your dues, mail to APIA, P.O. Box 26, N. Salem, NH 03073. Provide your email address with payment to ensure that you will be informed when the code changes to the lock at the boat launch, and allows us to easily send other information or inquiries to our members. In most cases, your beach pass will be mailed to you once payment is received. Please provide a mailing address if it is different than what we have on file for you.
- To pay in person, please contact Clare or Lisa
- If you want to Venmo, please contact Lisa (text or email) before you pay with Venmo. The Venmo ID and your mailing address can be verified at that time.
- One identification tag will be provided to each paid household and must accompany beach goers at all times. This will be strictly enforced.
- Any person from within the APIA boundaries that has not paid their dues cannot be a guest of another member.
Fireworks – there will not be any fireworks at the beach this year. We will reevaluate next year. Other Activities – TBD, We are considering having an ice cream truck on a hot beach day, or an activity for the kids. Once we establish the event and a date, you will be informed via email.

Regarding Cyanobacteria - In recent years, Arlington Pond has been subjected to high amounts of cyanobacteria, as have many lakes throughout the US. Unfortunately, there are no quick fixes, but to avoid accelerating cyanobacteria growth, we can all do our part to avoid introducing chemicals and invasive plants into the lake. Let's do our best to protect the lake so we can all enjoy it!
